Jacob "Jake" George Klein

July 13, 1944 — July 17, 2017

Jacob "Jake" George Klein, 73, of Petersburg, VA, passed away after a long battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis on July 17, 2017. Born on July 13, 1944, in Sewickley, PA, Jake graduated from Ambridge High School in 1962 and was drafted into the US Army. He was stationed to Ft. Lee Army Base in Petersburg, VA. Following fours year of service Jake left the military and completed a sheet metal apprenticeship and began a career in sheet metal construction. He married JoAnn Donahue in July of 1966 and in December of 1972 welcomed their only child, Crystal Klein (Woodworth). Jake spent 25+ years in his profession working in Virginia and nearly every state on the east coast of the US. Jake loved animals, boating, antique cars, playing cards with friends, and visiting with family. Survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Crystal & Scott Woodworth, his brother and sister-in-law, Thomas & Laura Klein, niece and nephew, Roni (Klein) Czika and Dr. Thomas (TJ) Klein, and extended family, Stan, JoAnn, and Martha Harris. All services will be private. The family is being served by the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
