Jacqueline Craft Tingler McAlister, 84, of Chester, VA, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2023. Born in Covington, VA, she was the daughter of the late James Everette and Lora Rogers Craft and was also preceded in death by her first husband of 51 years, Richard M. Tingler, Sr.; her second husband, Hiram "Pat" McAlister; and her step-son, Gary McAlister.
She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Hopewell, VA and had served as the activities director for many years at Chester Village Green. She was the owner and operator of Southern Bakery Catering Co. in Hopewell.
Jackie will be remembered by her family as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her four children, Rhonda Hall (Denard), Pamela Spilman (Glenn), Richard Tingler, Jr. (Kim) and Jeffrey Tingler (Angela); a step-daughter, Monica Clark (Jim); step-daughter-in-law, Tricia McAlister; seven grandchildren, Chris, Rebecca, Krysten, Zac, Hayley, Ellie and Evan; three step-grandchildren, Alexander, Kristen and Erin; four great grandchildren, Charley, Delaney, Jax and Brayleigh; five step great grandchildren, Kellan, Rowan, Elise, Adele and Colette; and one brother, Larry Craft. Jackie also leaves behind her much loved caregiver of the last couple of years, Sabine "Stina" Lively (Allen).
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 10, 2023 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Bermuda Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service.
