James A. â??Poochieâ? Warren, Sr., 67, a resident of Smithfield, died Thursday, September 25, 2008 at his home. Born in Southampton County, he was the son of the late Willie T. and Isabel Story Warren. He was an employee with 54 years of service with the Gwaltney Motor Company (the Pomoco Auto Group) in Smithfield. He was predeceased by his wife, Annie Belle Cook Warren. He is survived by a son, J. Albert Warren, Jr.; a daughter, Valerie A. Warren; a son, Michael W. Warren; and a granddaughter, Madeline Warren.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 27, 2008 at 10:00AM in the J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, Purviance Chapel in Wakefield with the Rev. Robert Cofield officiating. Burial will follow the service at Tucker Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery, Zuni. The family will receive friends at the residence, 203 Edgewood Dr., Smithfield, VA 23430 from 5-7PM on Friday evening.. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Societyâ??s Hope Lodge Charleston, 269 Calhoun St., Charleston, SC 29401-1111. The family is being served by J.T.
