James "Billy" William Gray Reece

James “Billy” William Gray Reece, 59, of Colonial Heights, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2014. Born in Petersburg, VA, he was the son of the late James G. and Kathleen Curtis Reece; and was also preceded in death by one sister. He was a retired Sherriff’s Deputy for the City of Petersburg. He recently worked at Agri-Supply and volunteered as an instructor for the American Red Cross and the Crater Criminal Justice Academy. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, the Prince George Sportsman Hunt Club, Carson and Disputanta Volunteer Fire Departments and Charity Baptist Church in Prince George County. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Martha Kay Reece; two children, James William Benjamin Reece and wife, Mandy, and Jennifer Hazel Reece Bundy and friend, Robert; seven grandchildren, Justin, Joshua, Erin, James, Jacob, Joseph and Benjamin; one step granddaughter, Trinity; mother-in-law, Raye Sims; special aunt, Judy Peffer; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends Sunday, August 31 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T Morriss and Son Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held Monday, September 1, 2014, 11:00am at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery.
