James Bishop

James Joseph Bishop, age 80, of Chester, VA passed away on October 31, 2006. He was predeceased by his parents John C. and Maude Pitman Bishop. He served in the U.S. Navy for two years and was a retired engineer from Allied Chemical Chesterfield Fibers Division. He was an avid amateur radio operator for over 40 years and a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #284 of Colonial Heights, VA. Surviving are his two children, Kathy B. Miller and husband Glenn of Richmond, VA., James J. Bishop Jr. and wife Linda of Hudson, FL; four grandchildren, Chase and Logan Miller, Cameron Mauzy and husband Ryan, and Carmen Bishop; one great grandchild, Luke Mauzy; and a former spouse, Virginia Dobra of Colonial Heights. The family will receive friends at the J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Chesterfield on Friday, November 3, 2006 from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will follow there on Saturday at 1:45 p.m. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
