James Steven Blalock

James "Steve" Steven Blalock, 90, of Petersburg, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Joe and Olin Bell Blalock; his loving wife of 51 years, Willie "Jackie" Atkins Blalock; son, Steven "Wayne" Blalock; sister, Dorothy "Dot" Stell; and brothers, David Blalock, Clinton Blalock, and Joseph Blalock. Steve worked as a diesel mechanic for many years. He enjoyed playing bingo, taking care of his garden, working on lawn mowers, vehicles, and anything he could do with his hands and most importantly spending time with his family and friends. Steve is survived by his children, Wonda Jackson (Jimmy), Teresa Andrews (Kevin), and Sandra Reuss (Lawrence); daughter-in-law, Carol Blalock; grandchildren, Michelle (Ricky), Alicia (Christina), David (Martha), Amy (Mike), Steven, Ryan, Tyler, and Kevin Jr. (Justina); eighteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Brockwell; sister-in-law, Nancy Blalock; and other extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm, on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A service will be held at 1pm, on Monday, January 27, 2025, at the funeral home, with interment to follow at Southlawn Memorial Park.
