James Dallas Clark, age 63, of Chester, VA, died unexpectedly on Sunday, October 22, 2006. He grew up in Matoca, VA, the son of the late Robert W. and Mary Ella Ivey Clark. Mr. Clark was a graduate of Thomas Dale High School, class of 1961, and Virginia Tech. University, class of 1965 and remained a dedicated fan of both. He served in the Chester Masonic Lodge #94 AF & AM, and was a past member of the Chester Jaycees and Chester Kiwanis Club. He was a past president of the Chester Fishing Club, and served five terms as the president of the Metropolitan Repeaters Association. He was an avid amateur Radio Operator and volunteered this skill to assist with the Special Olympics as a coordinator and communications specialist. He was a Skywarn weather spotter for the U.S. Weather Service since 1994 and a district emergency radio officer for the Capital Region of Virginia RACES since 1999. He was also a member of Beulah United Methodist Church since 1968, serving in the menâ??s club, and as a Sunday school teacher. His surviving family members include a wife of forty years, Jo-Ann C. Clark; a son, Aaron Clark and wife Jhayna of Chester, a grandson, Jaydn Clark; a brother, Robert Ivey Clark and wife Pat of Prince George, VA; two nieces, Christy Lythgoe and Cindy Clark; three great nephews, Jake Belvin, Brenton Lythgoe, and Trevor Zitta; and one great niece, Jordan Belvin. The family will receive friends at the J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Chesterfield on Wednesday, October 25, 2006, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will follow on Thursday 11 a.m. at Beulah United Methodist Church. Interment will take place afterwards in Sunset Memorial Park of Chester.
