James Eugene Clayton, 80, of Dinwiddie, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2022. He was born in Madisonville, KY.
James was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Cain and step-father, Joe Cain; his father, Leslie James Clayton and his step-mother, Peggy Clayton; and his sisters, Lavena Reese, Mildred Lewis, and Patricia Clayton.
He is survived by his daughter, Penny Nunnally (Jerry); grandsons, Robert Nunnally and Matthew Nunnally; great-grandchildren, Hailee Nunnally and Henslee Nunnally; sister, Brenda Adams of Kentucky; aunt, Helen Robinson of Kentucky; former wife, Gladys Nunnally; and devoted friend, Hazel O'Donnell.
James spent his career working as a sheet metal mechanic. He started with Tri City Plumbing and Heating and then to Colonial Mechanical, retiring after many years in his trade. In his spare time, James enjoyed watching his westerns on TV. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
