James Kelly Cox Jr

James Kelly Cox, Jr., 73, of Dinwiddie, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2014. Born in Honaker, VA, he was the son of the late James Kelly, Sr., and Gladys Ray Cox.; and was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty R. Blevins. Mr. Cox was retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad and was a proud member of the Matoaca Sportsman’s Club. He is survived by his wife, G. Ruth Cox; two sons, J. Greg Cox and Michael K. Cox and his wife, Tammy; a daughter, Jennifer L. Cole and her husband, Richard; four grandchildren, Kaitlyn A. Cox, Mandie K. Cox, Samuel T. Cole, and Morgan K. Cole; two sisters, C. Sue Diamond and her husband, Ralph, and Dorothy A. Ireson; a brother, Randy K. Cox and his wife, Debbie; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Friday, April 18, 2014 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral will be conducted at 11 am on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park.
