Mr. James Robert â??Bobbyâ? Davis, 69, died Sunday, September 30, 2007 at his home in Chester. Mr. Davis was a retired machine operator for Honeywell and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose #1472. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Robert Davis and Mattie Simpkins Davis, a daughter, Lisa Davis Childress, three brothers, Elwood Davis, William Davis, and Charles Davis; four sisters, Eva Simpkins, Sadie Parks, Christine Brooks, and Margaret Townes. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Cook Davis of Chester, a son James Robert â??Jamieâ? Davis, Jr. of Midlothian, VA, two grandchildren, Matthew Childress, and James Burmaster,ten sisters, Estelle Lifsey, Byrd Harris, Shirley Foster, Katherine Tiller, Nancy Zehm, Betty Vesely, Bernice Stallings, Mildred Brown & husband Thomas, Marion Loftis & husband James, Paige Hopkins & husband Kenny; two brothers, Roger Davis & wife, Ruth and Glen Davis & wife Jackie and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 3, from 7 â?? 8:30 p.m. in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 4, at 11 a.m. in the Hopewell Chapel with The Rev. Jeff Raymond, Pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.
