James Earl Day (Jim), 64, of Chesterfield, died June 22, 2006. His wife, Becky; daughter and son-in-law, Shawn and Carlyle Cordle; mother, Regina Day and son Brian Day survive him. In addition, Jim leaves behind his beloved cat, Murphy, and many loving family members, friends and acquaintances. Jim was an outstanding graphic artist, photographer, and illustrator. He worked for NASA in California, the VA Department of Highways, Philip Morris, and the Valentine Museum Riverside. He retired from the Division of Motor Vehicles as a manager of a mobile DMV office. Jim had many talents including whitewater canoeing and sea kayaking. He was an ACA whitewater canoeing instructor for Chesterfield County and he volunteered as a canoeing instructor for the Boy Scouts of America. Jim was a board member and a partner of Old Dominion Adventures and also served on the board for Coastal Canoeists. He had a passion for cooking and was nicknamed â??Chez Jim.â? His quirky sense of humor and warm personality will be forever mourned. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 26 at the Chesterfield Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 3050 W. Hundred Road in Chester. Please wear casual attire. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P. O.
