James Wellington Engle

James Wellington Engle, 84, of Chester, VA went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 22, 2021. Born in West Virginia he was the son of the late Joseph C. and Alpha L. Smith Engle; and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ronnie and Roger Engle. Mr. Engle was a long-time devoted member of Gill Grove Baptist Church in Chesterfield, VA. He faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force. He will be remembered by his family as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Mr. Engle is survived by his wife of 39 years, Connie Engle; his children; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a brother, Rex Engle. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Gill Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. John Mark Brothers, officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The family would like to thank the staff of Commonwealth Senior Living at Chesterfield for all their love and kindness while Mr. Engle was in their care. The family is being served by the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
