James Coley Hudson

James Coley Hudson, 89, of Prince George County, VA passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2018. Born in West Liberty, Kentucky he was the son of the late Green and Martha Noble Hudson; and was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Lou Edwards Hudson; his son, James Sidney Hudson; two brothers, Everett and Paul; and two sisters, Frankie and Pauline. Mr. Hudson was a United States Navy veteran and was a member of Cawson Street Church of Christ. He retired from Ft. Lee Fire Department in 1984 as the Fire Chief after 26 years of service. After retiring from Ft. Lee, he and his son, Sid, opened Hudson Properties in August of 1985. Mr. Hudson is survived by his three granddaughters, Jordan H. Heartwell and husband, Matt, Abby L. Hudson and fiancée, Jordan Clouse, and Sydney H. Harwood and husband, Brandon; two great-granddaughters, Claire Elizabeth and Lilly; his daughter-in-law, Carrie L. Hudson; two sisters, Janet Mullins and husband, Chalmer and Murel Moffitt and husband, Gary; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service honoring the lives of James and Betty Hudson will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Cawson St. Church of Christ. Interment will follow in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, Prince George, VA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T.
