James "Jimmie" Clark, Jr.

James “Jimmie” Henry Clark, Jr., 80, of Prince George, VA, died October 17, 2018. Born in Richmond, VA and raised in Prince George, VA. He was son of the late James Henry Clark Sr. and Adelia Peebles Burrow Clark Hatch. He was a loving husband, father, and devoted many hours of service to the Burrowsville Volunteer Fire Department and the community. He was a 1955 graduate of Prince George High School and retired from Allied Chemical Company after 38 years of service. Additionally, he served in the US Air Force from 1957-1962 and was a member of the Burrowsville Ruritans and US Coast Guard Auxiliary. Jimmie was a charter member of the Burrowsville Volunteer Fire Department which he was instrumental in starting in 1969. Jimmie Clark was preceded in death by his mother and father and his stepfather, Massey Hatch. He is survived by daughter, Susan Clark Vargo and her husband, Buck, of Prince George, VA; daughter, Cindy Clark Tyus and her husband, Sam, of Salem, VA; daughter, Sharon Clark Powers and her husband, Wayne, of Prince George, VA; daughter, Sherrie Clark-Deener and her husband, Brian, of Christiansburg, VA; six grand-children, Samantha, Renee, Brendal, Gracie, Ashley and Tiffany; and one great grand-child, Noah. Additionally, he is survived by his brother, Buck Nunnally and his wife, Norma and their sons, Lin (Jill) and Brooks (Michelle). A funeral service will be conducted at 11am on Saturday, October 27th at First Baptist Church in Hopewell, VA with Rev. Gibby Elder, Pastor of Newville and Salem Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Merchant’s Hope Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5pm to 8 p.m. on Friday, October 26th at First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Burrowsville Volunteer Fire Department. The family is being served by the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home.
