James Henry “Jim” Kilpatrick, age 92, passed away on 20 January 2021. He was born in Chestertown, MD to the late Ruth Margaret (Wunderlich) and Raymond Andrew Kilpatrick on March 27, 1928. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Marcella (Kilpatrick) Miller, and son Larry Michael Kilpatrick. He is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Norma Lee (Denson) Kilpatrick, sons, Russell, Brian “KP” (Kathleen), and Dennis (Aleeta), 7 grandchildren Lori (Kilpatrick) Gregory, Jennifer Kilpatrick, Jessica (Kilpatrick) Melin (Ben), Mercedes Vaughn, Alyssa Ross, and Kristin Tucker (Bert), James Kilpatrick and 8 great grandchildren. James grew up at and graduated from the Hershey Industrial School in Hershey, PA. (The Milton Hershey School). He served in the United States Army for 22 years, with tours of duty in France, Germany, Japan, Korea and Vietnam, as well as several stateside assignments. After retiring as a Platoon Sergeant (PSG), he was employed by the City of Petersburg for 4 years as an electrician and he continued to serve his country as a government civil service employee for 23 years at Ft. Lee, VA. James enjoyed reading and studying history, researching his family heritage, participating in black powder reenactments and attending the Scottish Highland games. He was a Past Governor of the Loyal Order of the Moose #1993 and a member of American Legion Post 2. He was a devoted American soldier, brother, father, grandfather, and husband.
