James Robert Lane Jr

James Robert Lane, Jr., 55, of Hopewell, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Claytie Gervais and Daniel J. McCarthy, III.; and paternal grandparents, Julia Lane and Marvin Lane.
He is survived by his mother, Linda M. Lane; father, James R. Lane, Sr.; sisters, Amy L. Gibbs, and Laura L. Lane; nephews, Drayke A. Kern, and Lewis E. Gibbs, III.; uncle, Dan McCarthy (Sherry); aunts Terri Davis (Herbert Tatum), and Theresa Vaughan (Earl); cousins, Jarratt Vaughan and Brandon Vaughan; and numerous close friends.
Later in James’ life, he found a great love for the lord that never stopped growing. From personality, it was evident that he was a huge-hearted, free-spirited man who lived life to the absolute fullest. James had a passion for traveling, and worked in 41 states across the U.S.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 2901 Norfolk St., Hopewell, VA 23860. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
