James Haney Loftis

James Haney Loftis, 82, of Hopewell, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2018. He is preceded in death by his spouse, Marion Davis Loftis; parents, Richard Haney and Ida Griffin Loftis; seven siblings, Herbert Loftis, John Loftis, Bobby Loftis, Louise Gardener, Eleanor Radford, Betty Jean Dalton and Mary Belcher. He is survived by two sons, James Robert Loftis (Janice) and Richard Haney Loftis (Roberta); five grandchildren. Jessica Loftis, Mandy Alderson, Jimmy Loftis, Rainey Loftis and Tiffany Arrington; three great-grandchildren, Jaxon Alderson, Carter Riggins and Kayleigh Arrington; and a special brother-in-law and close friend Glen Davis (Jackie). After 35 years of service, James retired as a Produce Manager at Safeway. The family will receive friends, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 5, 2018 at J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home of Hopewell, where a service will be held, 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 6, 2018 with Rev. Thurman Collier officiating. Interment will follow in Bermuda Memorial Park.
