James Marks

James W. ?Billy? Marks of Petersburg left this life on Saturday, December 25, 2004 after a long period of declining health. He was the son of the late Harold E. and Blanche Lockett Marks of Ettrick. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Evelyn Bennett Marks formerly of Ettrick; a son, James ?Jay? Marks, Jr. and his fiancé, Carol Koogler of Chesterfield; a daughter, Tammie Frazier and her husband, Keith of Prince George; five grandchildren, Krystal Marks of Chesterfield, Tracey Irvin and her husband, David of Dinwiddie, Jason Marks of Chesterfield, Danny Michalek of Covington, GA and Grayson Marks of Chesterfield; seven great-grandchildren, Jacob, Zoey, Gavin, Karmen, Carson, Joshua and Brenden; a sister, Geraldine Marks Brock of New York; three brothers Leverette Marks of Matoaca, Lloyd Marks of Matoaca and Shirley Marks of Texas; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Marks was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Marks, Jr. and Jackie Marks and one sister, Lucille M. Pecht. Mr. Marks was a distinguished veteran of the U.S. Navy having served his country for over 26 years. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. Wednesday, December 29 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home where funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Thursday, December 30. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park.
