James Edward Nestor

James E. "Sarge" Nestor, 94, of Chester, VA, passed away on Thursday, September, 8, 2022. Born in Clarksburg, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Guy and Birdie Nestor. Mr. Nestor had retired from the United States Army, having faithfully served his country during World War II and Korea. He was a member of the Colonial Heights American Legion Post #284, the VFW Post 2239, and was a Master Mason. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing solitaire, and spending time with his family. Mr. Nestor is survived by his loving wife of over 61 years, Peggy J. Nestor; four sons, Robert K. Nestor and wife, Kathy, Kevin W. Nestor and wife, Lee, David M. Nestor and wife, Kay, and Allan E. Nestor and wife, Brenda; one granddaughter, Kaitlyn Nestor; and several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A funeral service with full military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, VA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
