James Irving Pittman

Pittman, James Irving "Buddy," born December, 30, 1938 to the late Irving Burres Pittman and Sarah Flowers Pittman, passed away on September 22, 2022. He is survived by his son, Mark Irving Pittman (Sharon); three grandchildren, Henry Irving Pittman, Ann Claire Pittman, and James Joseph Pittman; and brother, Walter Wilson Pittman. Buddy grew up in Petersburg and graduated from Petersburg High School. He earned a degree in Industrial Management from Auburn University and went on to have a successful career in the insurance industry. Buddy enjoyed sailing, competitive shooting, and following the Auburn Tigers. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Robert Bowles, Bernie Sisson, Michael Costley, Joe Herbert, and Rick Carlton. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. with a memorial service following at 2:00 p.m. at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home - Chester Chapel, 3050 W. Hundred Road.
