James Sirry

James Calvin Sirry went to be to with the Lord on Sunday, July 9, 2006. He was born February 13, 1924 to the late E. S. & Susie Avery Sirry from Chesterfield County, Virginia. Mr. Sirry was a former Sunday school teacher & member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. He served in the U. S. Army & was a Veteran of World War II. He was retired from Allied Chemical where he worked as a Chief Operator in the Hopewell Plant. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Nelda Lois Butler of Ettrick, Virginia. Mr. Sirry was the last surviving male of the Sirry family, at the age of 82 He was a husband, father, grandfather & a friend who will truly be missed by all who knew & loved him dearly. Left here on earth to cherish his memories, his one and only devoted daughter, Joy Lynne Sirry Burton; his son-in-law, Emmett Burton III; his grandson, E.J. Burton; his great-granddaughter, Cheyenne Bishop; his life long friend, Marguerite Royster; and his four remaining sisters, Ruby Belcher, Elizabeth Bishop, Geraldine Traylor, & Louise Green. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 12, 2006 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Chesterfield Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service where funeral services will be conducted Thursday, July 13, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park with military honors.
