James Sidney Smith, age 88, died on Sunday, July 1, 2007 in Colonial Heights, VA. He was born in Richmond, VA, the son of the late James Benjamin and Eva Fowlkes Smith and spent his entire adult life in Alexandria, VA. James was a former employee of Anacostia Naval Station, Washington, D.C. He was preceded in death by a son, James E. Smith, and brothers, Aubrey B. Smith and Clarence E. Smith. He is survived by a daughter, Delores â??Roseâ? Lewis of Colonial Heights; four grandchildren, Keith Bishop and wife Sheila, Ann Morrissette and husband Allen, Lynn Freeburn and husband Rick, all of Prince George, VA, and Sarah Smith of Winchester, VA; six great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and a special friend, Frances Bussard of Arlington, VA. The family will receive friends at the J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Petersburg, VA, on Monday, July 2, 2007, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Graveside funeral services will follow on Tuesday at 11a.m. in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg.
