James Sr. Falconer

James C. Falconer, Sr., age 87, of Chester, VA, died on Sunday, August 31, 2008. He was born in Bally Shannon, VA, the son of the late Robert H. and Dina Salvesen Falconer. Mr. Falconer was a U. S. Navy and WWII veteran and a retired real estate assessor. He was a charter member of Grace Lutheran Church, Chester and Trinity Lutheran Church, Richmond. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Elizabeth H. Falconer; sons, James C. Falconer, Jr. of Kill Devil Hills, NC, and Robert C. Falconer, Sr. and wife Cathy, of Richmond, VA; grandchildren, Robert C. Falconer, Jr., Kari A. Queen, and Grace E. Bacchi; great-grandchildren, Robert W. Falconer and Sophia L. Bacchi; and a brother, Thomas M. Falconer and wife Doris, of Richmond, VA. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at 11 a.m. in Grace Lutheran Church with a reception following the ceremony. A private burial will follow at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church memorial fund at 13028 Harrowgate Rd. Chester, VA 23831.
