James Hartrell Thomas

James H. Thomas, 75, of Chesterfield, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 5, 2016. He was the owner of AAA General Contracting, and most recently employed by Belfor. James was preceded in death by his parents, Hartrell Holman and Elizabeth Bruce Thomas; and wife of 45 years, Edith Anne Thomas. He is survived by his most loved possession, his dog, “Desi”; his three children, Mark Thomas (Barbara), Wanda Bage (Kenny), and Jamie Thomas (Charlotte); four brothers, Henry Thomas, Harold Thomas (Dorothy), Cary Thomas (Karen), and Raymond Thomas; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. James was a U.S. Army veteran and his favorite hobby was going to Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City. He was a kind and gentle man who gave his time and energy to anyone in need. He was funny and always had a smile on his face. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M., on Monday, July 11, 2016 at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, 12609 Patterson Avenue, Richmond, VA. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M., on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 3050 W. Hundred Road, Chester, VA.
