James Waddill

Waddill, Dr. James Thomas III, of Chester, VA, died on Monday, November 26, 2007. He was born in Victoria, VA, September 13, 1931, son of James Thomas and Mary Alys Watlington Waddill. He graduated from the University of Virginia in 1954 and the Medical College of Virginia School of Medicine in 1965. He served in the United States Navy for four years as an officer. He taught at Thomas Dale High School for three years. He was a member of the Chester Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite. He was a member of Chester Baptist Church. He practiced medicine in Chester from 1966 until 1998. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joyce Overton Waddill; two sons, James Thomas Waddill, IV (Jay), and his wife Colette of Manteo, NC; Jeffrey Overton Waddill (Jeff) and his wife, Nicole of Chesterfield; and a daughter Jennifer Alys Waddill of Chester; four grandchildren, Sarah Ann Williamson and Jonathan Waddill of Wilmington, NC, and James Waddill and Morgan Waddill of Chester. He is also survived by his brother, John W. Waddill and wife Lois B. Waddill, of Chester. A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 29, 2007, 11 a.m. at the Chester Baptist Church, 4313 West School St., Chester, VA.
