James Edward "Skeegie" Walker

January 12, 1940 — December 30, 2014

James Edward “Skeegie” Walker, 74, of Chesterfield County, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2014. Born in Petersburg, he was the son of the late Edward Lee and Gertrude Allen Walker. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a retired civilian employee with the Department of Veterans Affairs. A loving father and grandfather, he leaves behind a daughter, Terri Bennett and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Brandy Pond and husband, Chris, Kristen Bennett and husband, James, and Michelle Padgett and husband, Brian; great-grandchildren, Ian, Gracie, Matthew, Jason and Hunter; brother, Ronnie Walker and wife, Joan; sisters, Marie Wasyk and Linda Slaughter; nieces and nephews, Mark, David, Becky, Anna and Kathy; special friend, Peggy Bolster; aunts, Marie Jones and Lou Allen, numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 4, at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at Noon on Monday at Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia, VA.
