James Percy Ward, 75, of Disputanta, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2004 at his residence. He was a U. S. Navy veteran, a retired Civil Service employee with thirty-one years of service at Fort Lee, and a long time member of the Prince George Emergency Crew. Mr. Ward was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Allen Ward. He is survived by three daughters, Cheryl Ward, Janet Brooks, and Barbara Ward; a son, James A. Ward; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Inez Wells; three brothers, Wayne Ward, Ernest Ward, and Quinton Helms; and devoted friends, Betty Chicas and Virginia Merritt. A graveside funeral service wil be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T.
