James "Ray" Raymond Lucas

James “Ray” Raymond Lucas, 63, of Chester, passed away on August 18, 2013 after a courageous three year battle with cancer. Born in Richmond, VA, he was the son of the late Thomas Hunter Lucas and Winnie Mae Mitchell Lucas. Ray was a 1972 graduate of Virginia Tech and was also a former member of the Jefferson Lakeside Country Club. He was an avid golfer, fisherman and gardener. Mr. Lucas is survived by his wife of 18 years, Gayle Litwinowicz Lucas; a sister, Rebecca Lucas Zolnai; and numerous other loving family members. A celebration of life service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Chester Presbyterian Church.
