Jane Mcewen

Jane Elizabeth Collett McEwen of Petersburg passed away February 6. She was the daughter of the late Robert Shearer Collett and Cecil Traylor Collett, and the widow of the late Dr. Philip J. McEwen to whom she was married for 56 years. She is survived by her three sons, Philip J. McEwen, Jr. and his wife, Karen Joy of Richmond, James C. McEwen, II and his wife, Cheryl Lynn of Virginia Beach, Robert Shearer McEwen and Linda Anne Price of Richmond, six granddaughters, Megan Joy, Karen Anne, Sarah Kathleen, Molly Elizabeth, Jordan Taylor and Hannah Jane, her sister, Cecil C. Stephenson and her niece, Margaret Simpson, her longtime friend and care giver, Rachel Harvell. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and loving wife. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 9, at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. W. Rand Forder officiating. A private interment will follow at Blandford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church, 235 West Washington Street, Petersburg, VA 23803.
