Janet Lou Holcombe Corhn, of Petersburg, passed away on December 9, 2011. She was born in Davis , West Virginia, the daughter of the late Louis B. and Orra F. Hughes Holcombe. She was a graduate of Davis High School. She loved her town and spoke of it often, the snowstorms, the people, and the mountains. She moved after marriage from Davis, West Virginia and bought a house in Dinwiddie County Virginia. Jan spent 30 plus happy years in Dinwiddie County doing what she loved best, teaching children. She loved each and every child as if they were her very own. Jan was a wonderful Mother, a fierce and loyal friend and she never knew a stranger. She loved her home in Dinwiddie County and was proud to have a legalized habitat for animals there. She is survived by her daughter, Christie Corhn Womack and husband, Mark; and two granddaughters, Reagan Leigh and Lauren Megan Womack. A memorial will be held in her honor at St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Petersburg, Virginia on Saturday December 17th, 2011 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the World Wildlife Fund.
