Janet W. "Neel" Currin

Janet W. "Neel" Currin, 83, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 5, 2025. She was born in Tazewell County to the late Sylvan and Eleanor Wiley. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, William "Bill" Neel; and her siblings, Butch and Mirdeath Wiley. After graduating from Tazewell High School, Janet moved east to Chester where she lived for over 60 years until the end of her incredible life. She worked for Bennett and Haley Ford as a car salesperson for over 20 years. After her husband's death, she found love again with C.F. "Sonny" Currin, who loved her faithfully until her passing. She was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. She considered all those she met in life to be her children. Left to cherish her memory is her adoring husband, C.F. "Sonny" Currin; her children, Pierce Neel (Bonnie), Lisa and Scott Vidito, Carthan Floyd Currin III, Bradley Currin (Stephanie), Christopher Currin (Shannon), Alan Currin, and David H. Neel; her grandchildren, Danielle Neel, Bryce Neel, David W. Neel, Logan Baker (Garrett), Lauren Currin, Olivia Currin, and Ella Currin; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Sofia Baker; brother, Allen Wiley; and all those she knew in life. A funeral service will be held Monday, January 13, 2025, at 11AM, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service, and interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in her name to the Memory Care Unit at The Crossing at Iron Bridge.
