Janette Lee Philyaw

Janette Lee Philyaw, 89, of Prince George, passed away on Friday, November 24, 2023. She was the daughter of the late James M. and Eva Butler Lee; and was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald M. Philyaw; a son, James Philyaw; one grandson, Derek Vrable; and four siblings, Lois Perry, James Lee, Wilbur Lee, and Jerry Lee. Mrs. Philyaw was an active member of Sycamore United Methodist Church in Prince George, where she had served in many different capacities. She will be remembered by her family as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mrs. Philyaw is survived by her daughter, Donna Vrable; three grandchildren, Shannon Vrable, Michael Vrable (Amy), and Britten Philyaw, Sr.; six great-grandchildren, Dylan Jones, Britten Philyaw, Jr., Parker and Pepper Vrable, and their mother, Kyanne, Cade Ochoa, and Asa Metz; one sister, Betty Lamm; a brother, Vernon Lee; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sycamore United Methodist Church in memory of Janet Philyaw.
