Janice Moody

Janice Y. Moody, 94, a life-long resident of Petersburg, VA, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at the Dunlop House in Colonial Heights, VA. Mrs. Moody was born on November 10, 1916 to the late Harry and Annie Yeoman. Mrs. Moody was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Moody; her two sisters, Ruth Otey and Mary Pinchbeck; and her daughter, Mary Ann Moody Blick. Mrs. Moody was a retired employee of the City of Petersburg Social Services Department where she met and maintained many friends. She was active in the Federated Womenâ??s Club, Old Blandford Church Ladies Memorial, and Circle One United Methodist Women of Washington Street United Methodist Church. Surviving family members include son, Glenn Y. Moody of Charlottesville, VA; daughter, Rebecca Goldin and husband, Barry of Boca Raton, FL; son-in-law, Kenneth A. Blick of Richmond, VA; two grandsons, Jeffrey P. Blick and wife, Susan of Macon, GA and David P. Blick and wife, Patricia and great granddaughter, Annie, all of Little Rock, AR; a niece, Carole Moody Wall and husband, Lloyd of Knoxville, TN and a nephew, Charles Otey and wife, Francis of Chester, VA. The family will receive friends at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home today, Thursday, September 1, 2011 from 3 to 5 pm. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, September 2, 2011 at the funeral home with interment to follow at Blandford Cemetery.
