Janice Patricia Walker

Janice Patricia McLawhorn Walker, surrounded by her loving family, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, November 2, 2015. Born on July 16, 1934 in Ayden, North Carolina to her late parents, Stewart Alonzo and Letha Evelyn Briley McLawhorn. Nothing was more important to her than God and her family. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Clarence Edward “Ed” Walker, Sr.; son, Eddie (Juanita); daughters, Arie (Larry), Pam (Red); grandchildren, Kerri (Shane), Tracey (Mike), Lauren (Eric), Trey (Genevieve) Briley (Weston), and McKeever; great-grandchildren, Ariana, Ethan, Alexandra, Layla, and expected great-grandchild from Tracey and Mike; as well as her loving extended family. Janice was a wonderful mother and so enjoyed being with her family and friends. She worked for JC Penney and Enterprise Rental Car. She was a dedicated member of Matoaca Baptist Church and a faithful witness for the Lord. She loved to travel and was a long time member of the Retreads Motorcycle Club and the Crater Antique Car Club. No matter where Janice went and who she came in contact with, she will always be remembered for her vibrancy and zest for life. Her precious spirit will be in our hearts and minds forever. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at Matoaca Baptist Church, 6409 River Road, South Chesterfield, VA 23803. Services will be held Saturday, November 7th at 2:30 p.m. with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Chester, VA. The Reverend Donnie Joyner will officiate. Flowers are welcome or contributions may be made to Matoaca Baptist Church organ fund in her memory. The family is being served by the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
