Janie Daniel

Janie Pleasant Daniel, 99, of Chester, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2011. She was a longtime former member of First United Methodist Church in Hopewell. She was a current member of the Cawson Street Church of Christ. Mrs. Daniel is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas S. Pleasant and Mary Lucy Meeler Pleasant; her husband, James Eddie Daniel; son-in-law, G. Randolph Garrett; granddaughter, Rhonda Daniel; four brothers; and six sisters. She is survived by her son, James Daniel; a daughter, Louise Garrett; grandchildren, Terry and Kenny Daniel, Douglas and Mark Garrett, Tamara McGhee, and Tracey Tatum; ten great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mildred Pleasant; and other family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 29, 2011 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park in Petersburg. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Cawson Street Church of Christ or the charity of your choice.
