Janis Carr

Janis Akers Carr, 86, died Saturday, July 29, 2006 in The Windsor Nursing Home, Richmond. She was born in Richmond and was a former resident of Park Avenue., Hopewell. Mrs. Carr was preceded in death by her parents, Charles T. and Laura Ellis Akers and her husband, Edward Joseph Carr. Surviving are three nieces, Laura Ellis McBride of Quinton, VA., Janis Biern Bark of Vergennes, VT and Ann Biern Piorun of Stony Brook, NY, and two nephews, John L. McBride of Moseley, VA. And Charles Biern of Annandale, VA . A graveside service will held Friday, August 4, 2006 at 1 p.m. in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Bruce Bevans, Rector of St. Johnâ??s Episcopal Church, officiating . Memorial contributions may be made to St. Johnâ??s Episcopal Church, 505 Cedar Lane, Hopewell, VA 23860.
