On Friday morning, May 28, 2021, Jan Davis of Chester, Virginia entered the gates of heaven at the age of 83. Jan was the daughter of parents, Ruel and Ethel Riggs, of Beaumont, Texas. She married Jim Davis of Port Neches, Texas on August 30, 1957. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jerry Riggs (JoAnn). She is survived by her brother, Ruel Riggs (Grace).
The impact of this woman of God should inspire others to live selfless lives. Jan’s resounding influence across generations is summed up in one statement: “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you” (Ephesians 4:32, KJV). Her voice and life heralded this verse to every member of her family and every friend in her wide circle.
The Davises have four children: D. Ray (Kim, until her death); Darla Mercer (Todd); Daren (Shawna); and Danis Goins (David). The Davises have fourteen grandchildren: Paul (Brennan), Emily (Michael), Hunter (Kelli), Davis (Kami), Kaylin (Zach), Trevor (Emily), Rachel (Tyler), Micah (Caley), Makenzie (Anderson), Meredith, Tanner, Peyton (Lucas), Tradd, and Sophia. The Davises have been blessed with thirteen great grandchildren with at least four more on the way.
