Jannette Price Gupton

Jannette Price Gupton, 80, of Dinwiddie County, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024. Born in Chesterfield, VA, she was the daughter of the late Earl Harding Price, Sr. and Mary Louise Southall Price; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Morris "Booty" Clifton Gupton, Sr.; the father of her children, Franklin Delano Gupton, Sr.; one brother, Jerry Price, Sr.; and two sisters, Peggy Guilliams and Terrie Grissom. Mrs. Gupton was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church. She was a gracious and giving person, who was always willing to help anyone she could. She enjoyed dancing and cooking for her family at the holidays. Mrs. Gupton will be remembered by her family as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and sister. She is survived by her five children, Franklin "Frankie" Delano Gupton, Jr. (Debra), Lorie Gupton Vaughan (Charles "Charlie Buck"), Timothy "Timmy" Wayne Gupton (Grace), Jonan Gupton Elder (Robert Sr.), and Sidney "Sid" C. Gupton (Theresa); twelve grandchildren, Michelle, April, Pam, Maggie, Brittany, Inga, Kelly, Charles, Bert, Travis, Maranda, and Sid; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three siblings, Roselyn Stell, Earl Price, Jr., and Bruce Price, Sr.; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, February 9, 2024, at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Robert Rowland, officiating. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, VA. The family will recevie friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at the funeral home.
