Jason Cory Holtman, 52, of Sutherland, VA, passed away on the evening of October 8, 2023.
Jason was born in Van Nuys, CA. He grew up being a son of military parents, Gloria Zaverl and the late Bryan Holtman.
Jason was the second son. His first best friend was his older brother, Glenn. Jason grew up in California; he loved to roller-skate with his brother and his Mom all over town in Van Nuys and enjoyed time at the beach.
As a young boy Jason played in Little League Baseball. He was also a member of Indian Guides where he learned about Native American culture and how to appreciate the earth. He lived throughout the country including Oregon, Utah, Texas, and Virginia. Jason also loved spending time with his dad, whom he was very close with.
Jason was a Ski Instructor with his brother for a time in Salt Lake City. He was also a marble worker and operated a small business as a drywall subcontractor. He worked in the trade for 36 years and really enjoyed working with Tony and his friend and mentor Rick Heiser.
He was known for his skillful artistry and hard work. He loved his family and friends with all he had. Jason was a patient, loving, kind, loyal and wise person. Over anything, Jason valued relationships and family.
Jason gave every bit of his time and energy to caring for his family. He brightened the lives of everyone around him. He believed in the importance of hard work and caring for others, which he passed on to his children. Jason loved to laugh and had a great sense of humor.
He loved art, especially his tattoos and was an avid music and sports fan. He also loved animals. But most of all, Jason enjoyed being with his family and his dogs.
