Jason Todd Slaughter

Jason Todd "T Bone" Slaughter, 52, of DeWitt, VA died Sunday, October 14, 2018 at VCU Medical Center. Jason was one of six children born to the late Joseph Leonard "Smokey Joe" and Shirley Jean Bishop Slaughter. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Wayne Slaughter. Jason loved fishing, hunting, gardening, and the Redskins. He was also an avid reader. Jason read on a wide array of subjects and history was among his favorites. He was always excited to share new information with everyone about his reads. Jason is survived by four daughters, Hope Doud Alicie (Tracey), Heather, Tabitha, and Jasmine Slaughter; sisters, Connie Wynn, Cindy Gilliland (Chuck), and Jamie Morini (Tim); a brother, Mike Slaughter (Wanda); several nieces, nephews, and friends. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 19, 2018 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home followed by interment at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Smyrna Baptist Church, 18971 Carson Road, Dinwiddie, VA 23841.
