Jean Hogue Blackwell

Jean Hogue Blackwell, 90, of Hopewell, VA, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Hunter Blackwell, Jr.; parents, Harold Hogue and Eugenia Hogue; and brother, Basil Hogue. She is survived by her children, Deborah Gibson (Glen), Linda Blackwell, James H. Blackwell III, Thomas Blackwell (Fiance Robin), Nancy Ngoun; grandchildren, Miles Mauger (Laura), Colin Mauger, Eric Mauger (Kira), Lauren Blackwell, Wade Blackwell, Wesley Wallace (Shana), William Wallace, Makayla Ngoun, Tyler Ngoun; great-grandchildren, Ashland Mauger, Mason Mauger, Brantley Mauger, Victoria Mauger, James Hunter Mauger, Madison Wallace, Aubrey Wallace, Mason Wallace, Makenna Wallace, Rylan Lorey, Admir James Omanovic; numerous extended family and friends. Jean was a member of Charity Baptist Church and volunteered at John Randolph Hospital for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM-8:00PM, on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 820 West Broadway, Hopewell, VA, 23860. A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM, on Friday, September 1, 2023, at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens. Contributions may be made to the Charity Baptist Church.
