Jean Lewis Chappell, 70, of Chesterfield, VA passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2018. Born in Richmond, VA she was the daughter of the late Emmett Lewis, Sr. and Alice Woodrow Lewis; and was also preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Pugh; and two brothers, Emmett Lewis, Jr. and Dennis Michael Lewis. Mrs. Chappell retired from Chesterfield County Public Schools as an Instructional Assistant after 26 years of service. She had a passion for teaching children and it showed through her dedicated work. Prior to her work with the school system she was employed by Thalhimer’s for over 25 years. She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Phillip Chappell, Jr.; a daughter, Lindsey A. Chappell; two granddogs, Rowdy and Sprocket; and numerous loving extended family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your local SPCA or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Jean Chappell. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com
