JEAN RABY LOWE, 71, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at her residence in Richmond. She was the widow of David C. Lowe. Born in Surry County, VA, she was a daughter of Leola Whitmer Raby of Richmond, VA., and the late Vernon L. Raby. Mrs. Lowe was a retired cafeteria worker for Philip Morris. They say angels walk the earth and Jean was proof of that. If ever there was a pure soul, she was. She was never angry and instantly loved everyone she met. Oh, what a beautiful angel she must be walking with our Lord.
Besides her mother, Jean is survived by her sister, Betty R. Dowdy and husband, Edwin, of Vinton VA; two special nieces, Robin Leigh Lynn, Lisa Dawn McDaniels and husband, Allan, a special nephew, Michael Wayne Lynn, a great-niece, Kristin Brooks, two great-nephews, Cameron Brooks and Keith Lynn, all of Roanoke, VA; a special friend, Roxie McGrant; and lots of cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 15, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the Purviance Funeral Home Chapel, Wakefield, VA with the Rev. Ray Rowland officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Methodist Church Cemetery, Surry, VA. Memorial donations may be made to the March of Dimes, 4504 Starkey Rd., SW #120, Roanoke, VA 24014.
