Jean Wells Maitland, 61, of Dinwiddie, widow of John H. Maitland, Jr., died Tuesday, February 15, 2005 in Southside Regional Medical Center. She was born in Petersburg and was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas E. and Mary Fable Wells, and a sister, Wanda Kay Wells Myers. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, Dinwiddie Chapter and retired from Blazer ? Washington Mutual after 32 years of service. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila Maitland Branzelle (Larry) of Colonial Heights and BettyJo Maitland Atkinson (Michael) of Dinwiddie; and a devoted Roanoke daughter, Angie Lafon; seven grandchildren, Jessica Lyndsey Frazier of Dinwiddie, Larry Branzelle, Jr. of Colonial Heights, Tabatha Ray Atkinson of Dinwiddie, Megan Mitchell, Bryson Myers and R. J. Myers all of Hopewell and Melia Rose Lafon of Roanoke; nieces and nephews, Sue Ann Mitchell of Hopewell, Richard Thomas Myers of Hopewell, Gerald Dean Myers III, and his sons, Dean and Dale, of Disputanta and James Edward Myers, and his daughters, Karri and Lindsey, of Chesterfield. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in Southlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Tom Lester, pastor of Crawford United Methodist Church, officiating.
