Jean Moran Minson

Jean Moran Minson, 87, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2015. Born in Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late Bernard V. and Byron Goodwyn Moran. She was also preceded in death by a son, Fred H. “Ricky” Minson, III. Jean was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She worked as a tour guide with the Petersburg Department of Tourism for many years. She loved theatre, and acted in a number of performances at Lee Play House, Fort Lee. She also loved to travel, sing and dance, but her passion was her family. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Fred H. Minson, Jr; children, Stacy M. Wallace, Andrew T. Minson, and Kelly M. Guilford; grandchildren, Stephen Guilford, Kate Guilford, Brynn Wallace, Jasper Minson, Byron Minson, and Grace Minson; and daughter-in-law, Sherry Minson. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 28, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 151 W. Washington St. Petersburg, VA 23803.
