Jean Oliver Newman

Jean A. Oliver Newman, 91, of Covenant Woods Retirement Community in Mechanicsville, VA, passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021. She was born in Petersburg, VA on January 26, 1930 to the late Royton K. and Avis Oliver. Jean was preceded in death by her sister, Anne Holderfield. She is survived by her two nieces, Diane H. Berberich and Barbara A. Holderfield; numerous great nieces, nephews, cousins; and close friend and advocate, Barbara Dickinson. Jean loved nature and being outdoors. Following retirement from Fort Lee, VA she spent much of her time at the Outer Banks of NC. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Blandford Cemetery, 319 S.
