Jean Steele Rigney

Jean Steele Rigney, 89, of Hopewell passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Emma Steele; her loving husband, Donald Payton Rigney; a brother, John Henry Steele; and son-in-law, H. Curtis Butterworth. Jean is survived by her daughters, Donna Butterworth, and Debra Drouin (Francis); grandchildren, Brandon Payton Butterworth (Jessica), Brooke Ashley Butterworth Freeman (Ryan), Melissa Lee Drouin (Brian); great-grandchildren, Carter Reynolson Butterworth, Grayson Davis Butterworth, Ellie Jean Irving, Leo Dean Irving; brother, Jerry Morgan Steele (Katherine); sister-in-law, Gail Steele; devoted caregiver, Terri Mitchell; as well as numerous extended family and friends. Jean was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Hopewell. She was a faithful wife and devoted mother, who loved spending time with her family. A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Monday, January 29, 2018 in Bermuda Memorial Park. The Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son is assisting the family with arrangements.
