Jean Gott Stevens, 55, of Varina, VA, left us to go home and be with Jesus on Friday, May 14, 2010. She was born on May 20, 1954, in Accokeek, MD., to Irene C. (Renie) and the late James S. (Jimmie) Gott. Jean is also survived by Robert D. Stevens, her daughters, Jennifer S. Harris (Mark Harris), Michelle L. Gilroy, son, Patrick J. Stevens, grandchildren, Kayleigh R. Gilroy, Lindsay N. Harris, Tyler J. Perrault and Savannah R. Harris, her long time boat mate Michael W. Scott, sisters, Elaine G. Jackson and Barbara E. Mason, her brothers, Robert J. Gott and Brian A. Gott and many nieces and nephews. Jean retired from Prince George Social Services in 2005 after serving 25 dedicated years as an Information System Support Technician with her dear friends Brenda, Sharla & Sue. She served 20 years as Disaster chairman for Hopewell-Prince George Red Cross and developed and taught many courses. Jean served several terms as the treasurer for Hopewell Yacht Club. She will be greatly missed, but we will see her again one day. A memorial service will be held at Colonial Heights Baptist Church on Monday, May 24, 2010 at 6:30 pm with Pastor Randy Hahn officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
