Jean Lewis Watkins

Jean Lewis Watkins, 80, of Church Road, VA, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2013. Born in Chester, VA, she was the daughter of the late Robert Baxter and Mamie Wiley Partin. She was also preceded in death by two husbands, Rudolph D. Lewis, Sr. in 1980, and Eddie Lee Watkins in 1989. Mrs. Watkins was a loving mother, devoted friend, and dedicated member of the Church Road community. She was a member of Wilson-Hebron-Ford Ruritan Club and enjoyed crafts, such as knitting, crocheting, and especially quilting. She is survived by her son , Rudolph D. Lewis, Jr. and wife, Lynn of Sutherland; daughter, Deborah J. Lewis and fiancé, Robert C. Timper of Chester; grandchildren, David W. Lewis and wife, Jennifer, and Andrew J. Lewis and wife, Jamie; great-grandchildren, Savannah, Blain, Mackinlee, Chase, Taylor, and Hunter. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, December 19th at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Corinth United Methodist Church, Ford, VA, with The Reverend Dr. James O’Quinn officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
