Jeanne O'Brien Kress, entered her heavenly home, on Monday, March 11, 2024. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Kress; her son, John Colin Wilkinson and his family; two nephews, John Stafford (Logan) and Matthew Stafford; sister-in-law, Deborah Stafford; half-sister, Linda Spence; and her nieces and nephews, Darden, Evander, Adeline, Caroline, and George Stafford; along with Dave and Bev Long, long-time close friends. She is preceded in death by her brother, James Stafford.
She was a graduate of Manchester High School and earned an accounting degree from Virginia Commonwealth University.
She was a long-time employee of Richmond Public Schools where she worked in their accounting and human resources department. After retirement, she returned back to school and earned her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Trinity School of Natural Health, which allowed her to manage her health and help others grow healthy as well.
She was a member of Monumental Baptist Church where she was an active member, singing in the choir, serving on the stewardship committee, and helping with the senior group among many other activities. She also enjoyed hosting Bible studies in her home and helping those in need. She loved to camp and enjoyed going fishing. She also enjoyed making jewelry that she sold in yard sales and other venues.
Visitation with the family will be held Monday, March 18, 2024, at 10:00 AM, with funeral services to follow at Monumental Baptist Church, Petersburg. The graveside will follow at 2:00 PM, at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, on Patterson Avenue in Richmond.
